Ayaz and his wife live with his mother-in-law, comfortably living off the money sent to the mother by her son, who has been in exile for years.

When his brother-in-law is allowed back, hoping to postpone his return, Ayaz stages a fake security search to scare him off. His plan works a bit too well and word reaches the actual secret service. Soon, Ayaz finds himself caught in the constantly tightening grip of a Kafkaesque institution.
