Synopsis

From the 1980s

A filmmaker recalls his childhood, when he fell in love with the movies at his village's theater and formed a deep friendship with the theater's projectionist.

Critics

open_quote Utterly irresistible, this may be a cornball celebration of the art and social history of cinema, but it's also a thoughtful memoir of more innocent days, when pleasures rarely came cheaply or instantly. close_quote Patrick Peters, Empire Magazine

open_quote Still rapturous after all these years, Cinema Paradiso stands as one of the great films about movie love. close_quote Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
