Witnessing
her son being arrested during a street protest, Christine
suffers a heart attack and falls into a deep coma. By the
time she recovers, the Berlin Wall is no more. As a die-hard
supporter of the GDR this news could kill her. Her son and
daughter decide to devise evermore elaborate schemes to
keep the news from her. The creation, and maintenance, of
a make-believe world involves hare-brained ideas and increasingly
desperate actions. A hugely enjoyable, yet thought-provoking
comedy, with as much to say about the corruption of capitalism
as the strictures of communism.
Critics

is a remarkable film that makes you laugh and leaves you
